Cozy Winter Recommendation

Winter is here which means hot chocolate, warm blankets, Disney movies and lots and lots of books.

So here are my Cozy Winter recommendation!

This is a short recommendation post because a lot of the books in my Goodreads… I don’t remember. So let me recommend you the ones I do.

I tend to see wintertime as the perfect time to read high fantasy, and so let recommend you: Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.
I am currently watching the HBO adaptation of this show (yes, I am late, let’s not talk about it). Anyways, the book does have a very heavy winter setting that really makes you want to curl up under a blanket. Plus the high-fantasy setting is perfect for an engrossed winter read.

Obviously, winter season is also Harry Potter season.

Harry Potter by J.K.Rowling is the best book for winter. It is quick and fun, with magic and heroes. This book is something that makes you want to read (and re-read) with a cup of hot chocolate.

Another great book to read during this winter season is Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Amazon made an adaptation of this, and it is truly amazing but the book is just good ol’ British humor. This book follows two angels who are trying to stop the end of the world, but they are super clumsy and end up making things a lot worse. It is filled with humor while still keeping you intrigued with the story line.

Lastly, one of my favorite books of 2019: Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. This book is a retelling of a Russian mythology, and it is extremely atmospheric. I read this during summer of 2019 and I wish I waited until winter. The atmosphere really makes you feel like you’re living in the book with the winter and all the magical creatures. It is a perfect savory book that will make your afternoons fly by.
