All the books I DNF-ed in 2019

2019 was a year of DNFs.

The last part of my 2019 breakdown before doing a full year review is here!!

I created a massive habit of DNF-ing books in 2019. I used to push myself to finish them, just so I could give a thought-out review as to why I didn’t like it. However, with college and life coming in full throttle in 2019, I started to put down the books I wasn’t in the mood for.

So a lot of these DNFs were books I still plan to pick up or I am just completely done for. Whichever one it is, these books have allowed me to read other books in 2019 that I actually enjoyed.

So I thank them.

Anyways, here they are. All the books I DNF-ed in 2019:

The Wicked King by Holly Black

I didn’t like the Cruel Prince and I wanted to like this series so badly. But I have discovered that I don’t like other people’s descriptions of fae…. Or maybe I just really don’t like Jude.

The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan

I read most of Rick Riordan’s books and I love them all. To be honest, this was more of burnout. I tried to read it during a reading slump and it just didn’t work. I still want to finish the Magnus Chase series but its not a top priority.

Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi

I would just rather read Alice Adventures in Wonderland and that’s the tea.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

I was supposed to read this in October… clearly, it didn’t happen.

The rest of these books all fall in the category of: I tried and it wasn’t for me. So let’s speed through them.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

Emma by Jane Austen

Technically, You Started It by Lana Wood Johnson

Wilder Girls by Rory Power

Death Note vol. 1 by Tsugumi Oba

The Whisper Man by Alex North

And here they are. Some of these books I had opinion on it, some of them I didn’t. Hopefully, 2020 will be a year of less DNFs.

xoxo
