In a galaxy far, far away Darth Vader was a successful business man.
Be More Vader is a self-help book on how to be successful in the workplace. By using scenarios and quotes from Star Wars, it gives simple tips on how to make an impression from the first interview.
This book gives pretty simple and somewhat cliche tips on how to be successful in the workplace. The tips don’t go into too much details, and instead they choose to use Star Wars scenarios to make their points go across.
The book is created in a format where it has a bunch of pictures from Star Wars – specifically Episode 1: The Phantom Menace to Episode 6: The Return of the Jedi. Alongside those pictures are quotes and little excerpts with tips. The author uses scenarios from Star Wars to make their point go across. For example, saying that even though your co-worker has a Death Star already build, doesn’t mean you should quit.
Though the tips were good, they aren’t original. The tips are the generic types that you hear whenever you go to find a job. Its tips like making an impression on the first interview by offering something that the interviewer wants for that position. However, the book lacks the explanation on how to do such things.
This book was really just meant to be fun and entertaining, and without much insight on it. It’s clear that the author simply wanted to add Star Wars to a more serious theme without really taking away the fun that is Star Wars.
In the end, it is a quick read and it serves as a really good reminder, but its not something I would recommend as a serious book.
